One of the most difficult things about commuting as a bicyclist in a state where it snows in the winter is actually using that transportation when the snow starts falling and it becomes almost impossible to ride a bike safely.  Contrary to popular belief, however, riding a bicycle is indeed possible, even in the winter. Folding bicycles are a great way to improve the commute someone might have to take on an especially cold day, but generally speaking a significant amount of the winter can indeed be spent on a bike for commutes to and from work.
